Apollo is FOUR!!!

I can't believe I have a four-year-old. Has it really been four years since this sweet, amazing little person came into our world? In some ways, it feels like just yesterday he was born, and in other ways it feels like an eternity- especially when I think about how much I have learned and how much my life has changed with becoming a parent.

Birth story can be found here: http://thatcrazygravesfamily.blogspot.com/2009/03/celebrating-birth-of-apollo.html

It's been so much fun watching our boy change through these last four years:
Our first glimpse of our boy. He was pink and gold and smelled so sweet.

Age four- with a head full of cowlicks.

Apollo, I learn something from you every single day. Your wisdom catches me off guard sometimes- you say the most profound things when I least expect it. Your sensitive and passionate nature scares me a little bit, but I love it and wouldn't change it for the world. Your ability to see the beauty and brilliance in those everyday things I take for granted inspires me. Your intelligence is intimidating- I wonder if I can live up to task of being your teacher. Your capacity to love makes me cry when I think about it- watching how gentle and patient you are with your little sister. I am so blessed to be your mom. Every day I have with you is a gift.

Love you dude!!! Happy 4th Birthday!!!!

Apollo, you're my favorite person to hang out with.

I love your knock-knock jokes and building/playing in the goblin city with you. I love the faces you make when you're acting goofy or being quizzical. I love telling you stories about you and Grog--last night you attached rockets to your Jeep and flew to the birthday cake mountain and ate the heads off of whipped-cream-filled chocolate bunnies on your way to the top of the mountain to blow out the giant candles.

I love how smart and sensitive you are. I'm proud to have you as a son.
