The Heck Run and a dash of cute

We did it!!! We ran the hell run! We waded through freezing cold rivers and crawled through mud pits and scaled giant walls. It rocked! Next up- half marathon, but my ambition stops there... I'll leave the marathons to people who are crazy enough to compete in competitions where grown men crap their pants.

 Cameron was #77 at 31:06.

 I was #1,030 at 45:51

Results here: http://premierraces.com/Results2011/hellrunseattleoverall.txt

There were 3500 people in the race, so I was at least in the top third! Yay! And Cameron totally kicked butt as usual... Forrest Gump has nothing on him.

Here we are in our costumes before the race.

We decided to switch roles for the day...

But on to cuter things...

Phoenix is getting so big! As is Sunshine and Apollo.

Phoenix can sit up on his own now. There are still plenty of moments where we yell out "Tiiiiiimberrrrrr" and watch him flop backwards onto a pillow, but he seems to be getting more mobile each day. I'm pretty sure he'll be crawling in the next month or two.

Sunshine... oh sweet, frustrating Sunshine :) She is very much in her terrible twos. She likes to bite her brothers, climb high things and jump off, and her favorite foods seem to be toothpaste and stickers, but despite her best efforts to kill herself I have managed to keep her safe and alive. I love her strong will and relate to her fiery temper. There are moments where I am astounded by her brilliance, and other moments where I wonder what in the world compels her to do things. She is fearless and strong-willed and brilliant and curious- every thing a girl should be. She just started a ballet class. She has always loved dancing so I know she'll have a blast.

And then there is Apollo. He is such a sweet boy. Sometimes I wonder if I expect too much of him- he is so helpful and so smart, I often forget that he is only four years old and needs to be babied sometimes. He is in his second year of preschool and loves it. He's growing up so fast.

Lately I have had some heartfelt moments where I realize just how fleeting and precious these years are... my kids are growing so fast. There are many other moments where I count the days till they are all in school full time. Parenthood is the hardest thing I have ever loved. I feel truly blessed to spend my days surrounded by such amazing sweet spirits. They keep me young and cause plenty of gray hairs simultaneously.

I'm glad I get to treasure these moments with you. They'll be over sooner than we want them to be :(
